The Dew Daddies have been helping to keep real country music alive and kickin’ in Bloomington for a long time, entertaining crowds with their energetic, twangin’ mix of country classics and original honky-tonk songs. Having released 2 full-length CD recordings of original material in the classic honky-tonk tradition, and having been the opening act for Junior Brown, The Derailers, Dale Watson, Rosie Flores, Wayne Hancock, Robbie Fulks, and others, the Dew Daddies have real country creds and experience. Bloomington City Councilman, Andy Ruff, is lead vocalist, songwriter, and front man, and his talented son, young Hank Ruff, tears up the Bakersfield style telecaster electric guitar and adds some hot mandolin too. Hank’s high school pal, Daniel Deckard, can rock piano like Jerry Lee the Killer. Stalwart Dave Johnloz lays down a solid bass, and Hunky Dory brings his experience from Stone Carnival to complete a country-ass-kickin’ rhythm section. The amazing Jerry Miller joins the Dew Daddies again for this Player’s Pub performance, and what he adds make the Dew Daddies as cool as the other side of the pillow.
