For over thirty years, Tom Roznowski has used various creative forms to explore his persistent curiosity with daily life. He has composed, performed, and recorded a multitude of original songs. They have emerged in solo albums, film soundtracks, product jingles, and cover versions from artists of various genres. Tom Roznowski has recently been called “Indiana’s best living songwriter”. He won’t argue with this.
Sarah Flint has been involved in the Bloomington music scene for over 30 years.
Performing first in rock bands like Blue Hugh and the Colortones, Film at 11, The Mixxe, an early version of The Impass Band, and Dr. Bop and the Headliners. Then recording with John Mellencamp, John P. Strom and StoneRoad. Venturing into country Sarah performed every Saturday all day at the Bloomington Community Farmer’s Market when it was still on 6th St. and with The Dew Daddy’s. Then stepping into jazz as lead vocalist for The Stardusters big band and forming her own combo. Sarah’s Swing Set released two albums of great vocal jazz including the song penned by Sarah, The Perfect Gift. Recently she and Dave Gulyas have worked up a nifty jazz duo too.
All the while Sarah been teaching private guitar, voice and ukulele lessons to now over 500 students, many of them having continued to pursue careers in music or the music industry. This year Sarah is also teaching 12 students guitar at Fairview Elementary.
Sarah currently plays with Hoosier Darling aka The GoZpel GurlZ, a trio of women that have allowed her to expand her soloing and writing skills, a duo of 50’s and 60’s rock and country with her husband Tim Tryon that took them on tour to The Mediterranean, Atom Heart Mother a Pink Floyd tribute band as an “oooo” girl, all the while continuing Sarah’s Swing Set with Robert Stright.
Sarah is big fan of Tom Roznowski’s and is glad to be opening up for him at the Players Pub and not at a picnic with him where they’re serving stewed cucumbers.
